Cinnamon 6 by Herbal Promise

"A Promise Made, A Promise Kept;"
A new study has determined that just one half of a teaspoon of cinnamon daily significantly reduces blood sugar levels in diabetics. Just soaking a cinnamon stick in your tea provides this astounding effect. In addition, people who are not diabetics but have a problem with their blood sugar levels can benefit from this. There are also millions of people who have a problem with blood sugar levels and are not even aware of it.
This accidental discovery was made by Richard Anderson, a researcher at the US Department of Agriculture's Human Nutrition Research Center in Beltsville, Maryland. The study consisted of examining the effect on blood sugar levels of consuming foods that we normally eat in the U.S. Believe it or not apple pie spiced with cinnamon was effective in lowering blood sugar levels. The active ingredient in cinnamon turned out to be a water-soluble polyphenol compound called MHCP which mimics insulin and activates its receptors.
People who are overweight, sedentary or over 25, tend to lose sensitivity to insulin. Having a high level of blood sugar can cause serious long-term damage to eyes, kidneys, nerves and other organs.
A study was organized using Volunteers with Type 2 diabetes being given capsules containing 1, 3 or 6 grams of cinnamon powder daily after meals. All showed improved in lower blood sugar levels, averaging 20% lower results than a control group. Some even reduced their levels to normal. AND after the cinnamon was withdrawn their blood sugar levels started rising again. Additionally the Cinnamon lowered blood levels of fats and LDL the so-called "bad" cholesterol, the levels of which are partly controlled by insulin. Free radicals seem to be higher in diabetics, however experiments in test tubes also indicated that these dangerous free radicals were neutralized by the cinnamon.
However the answer, is not to eat more apple pie or cinnamon pastries because of the high fat and sugar content, but to merely add cinnamon to the healthy foods you eat liquids that you drink. The active ingredient is not present in cinnamon oils but in the powdered spice. Lower blood sugar levels have been achieved by merely soaking a cinnamon stick in tea.
